2016 911 Targa 4 GTS
Getting creative to get a deal done

First introduced to the public at the Detroit Auto Show in 2014, the 991.1 Targa made quite the statement as Porsche went back to the “traditional” Targa top as opposed to the greenhouse Targa of the past three generations. The initial lineup included the Targa 4 and Targa 4S models, with the Targa 4 GTS joining the lineup a year later.
This 2016 911 Targa 4 GTS came finished in Rhodium Silver Metallic over a Black leather and Alcantara interior and showed 32,000 miles on the odometer. It came well-optioned from the factory with 20” 911 Turbo S wheels, Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, a Carbon Fiber steering wheel, and more for an original MSRP of over $170,000 CAD, as this is a Canadian-market example.
As with most non-US cars these days, the comment section is filled with questions about tariffs. Given that this one is manufactured in Germany and currently not residing in the US, the 25% tariff would still apply as read in the current (as of today) documents. Had this been here in the US, I’m expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $125/130,000 based on options and the fact that 991.1 GTS are gaining in popularity as they were among the last of the normally aspirated non-GT 911s. But it sold at a final offer of $92,000, which if you add 25%, would bring the total to $115,000. BUT, and it’s a big but, the seller offered to drive the vehicle into the US and register it at their permanent California address. Whether or not that would work, is anybodies guess. But if it does, well played, and very well bought.
