2016 Cayman GT4

Demand for DeMan?

DeMan Motorsport has made quite the name for themselves in the Boxster/Cayman space with their engine packages producing over 500hp at the wheels in their top of the line 4.5-liter GT4 engine package. What’s interesting, is that DeMan cars have appeared to hold their value as prices over the last few years have been the market for a Boxster/Cayman, plus the total cost to build. No depreciation on the modifications. But is that changing?

Today’s Spotlight car, this 2016 Cayman GT4 is equipped with DeMan’s 4.5-liter engine package along with other modifications such as 19” Forged Apex VS-5RS wheels, BBI Autosport roll cage, a lightweight flywheel, Tarett Camber Plates & Toe Links, Schroth harnesses, and more. Finished in Rhodium Silver Metallic, this 38,000-mile GT4 is wrapped in Gloss Violet with a Black leather interior featuring Carbon Buckets. While the wrap looks good, it would be nice to know the condition of the paint underneath.

At 38k-miles, this GT4 is on the higher side of mileage and probably would have sold somewhere between $80-90k depending on paint, so let’s call it $85k. The receipt from DeMan provided in the gallery list the work at $34,070, which would put this car at roughly $120,000 based on the previous history of DeMan sales. It sold, however, at a final bid of $107,000. Are DeMan-built cars starting to soften? I think it will take a few more sales to really know, but for now, a decent buy for the new owner.
