2017 718 Cayman

Are 718 Caymans on the same boat as the sinking 718 Boxsters?

Yesterday we took a look at the 718 Boxster market, so it only fits that we look at where 718 Caymans sit today. This 2017 Cayman is finished in Graphite Blue Metallic over a Luxor Beige interior and shows 57,200 miles on the odometer. Factory equipment includes the Premium Package Plus, 20-inch Carrera S wheels, a Bose sound system, and paint protection film is the only modification this car has seen.

While the car appears to be in decent condition with minor wear such as chips and some corrosion on the exhaust, it did sustain a minor accident in 2020 with the driver-side fender being replaced. The CarFax of course shows that incident and also includes a solid service history over the last few years. A nice enough example, but with some dings in its history.

Just like the 718 Boxster, the 718 Cayman market is pushing downward after peaking earlier this year at a $55,000 average. Since then, averages have slid by a few thousand dollars, but look to slide further as this example sold at a final bid of $36,500 for a new five-year low. With high mileage and the accident, I’d say this one was a fair deal, especially looking forward. A ton of fun for the money though.
