2018 911 Carrera T
A little mileage makes the 991 Carrera T quite attractive
For the 2018 model year, Porsche returned their T (Touring) suffix to launch their driver-focused version of the 991, the 911 Carrera T. This 911, built to be greater than the sum of its parts, featured the standard Carrera engine but with a shorter rear axle ratio, mechanical differential lock, PASM Sport lowered suspension, Sport Chrono package and sports exhaust as standard.
The T also featured reduced sound insulation and the deletion of the rear seats and communication system to save weight (although they could be re-added as no-cost options) and offered optional rear-wheel steering, PDK transmission, and carbon fiber bucket seats.
Today’s Spotlight car, this 2018 911 Carrera T, is finished in White over Black leather and Sport-Tex and shows 35,000 miles on the odometer. Along with the standard list of options that make the Carrera T great, this example also features the Carrera T Interior Package, PDK Transmission, Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, BOSE, Full Bucket Seats, and more.
Overall the car presents well, with some small defects noted in the paint and a refinished front bumper cover due to damage incurred from a 2022 “Minor” accident. The interior, engine bay, and undercarriage look clean enough but could use a proper detail upon delivery. Still, nothing that would keep me from bidding. The car has a full set of books, keys, and plenty of service records from its only California owner.
991.2 Carrera Ts have been fairly flat lately, with the majority of cars falling in the $90-100,000 range and a five-year high of $125,000 for a 314-mile example in April of this year. Our Spotlight car, at 35,000 miles, is the highest mileage example we’ve seen thus far, and it brought the lowest sales price we’ve seen in the last five years as well, with a final bid of $81,500.
A $10,000 difference between cars with half the mileage doesn’t seem that bad. And when you factor in the minor paintwork from the accident on the CarFax, $81,500 seems pretty strong. Well sold on this one.
