2018 Macan Turbo

Why no Turbo S?

Porsche typically squeezes everything they can out of a Model Line by offering a multitude of models, but for some reason, the “Turbo S” was never offered on a first generation Macan. Instead, one could opt for Porsche’s Performance Package if the Macan Turbo just wasn’t fast enough. The Performance Packaged added an additional 40 horsepower and 36 lb-ft of torgue, lowered the ride hight, increased the top speed by 5 mph, and added a Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono, and larger brakes as standard.

This 2018 Macan Turbo is one such Performance Package-equipped example and comes finished in Jet Black Metallic over a Black leather interior and rides on Black 21-inch Sport Classic wheels for a menacing look. Other equipment on this 50,200-mile Macan included Premium Package Plus, Carbon Fiber Interior Package, and SportDesign mirrors for an original MSRP of $106,320. Overall, the car appeared to be in good condition with minimal wear and a solid service history since new.

While Macan Turbos are a dime a dozen, those with the Performance Package are few and far between. Over the last twelve months, prices have fallen to around $28,000 with a high of $60,750 for a 37,000-mile example just a few days ago. While that example had lower mileage and an MSRP of $103k, it lacked the Performance Package. So for this one to fail to sell at a final bid of $35,400, it shouldn’t have been a surprise. I think somewhere around $50k would have taken this one home.
