2020 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trackday

Trackday vs. Competition. What's in a price?

Porsche’s 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport comes in two flavors: Trackday and Competition. And as you can guess by those names, each flavor has their intended uses. The Trackday is intended for lapping (although racing isn’t out of the question) and the Competition is built more for wheel-to-wheel and endurance racing with the addition of adjustable dampers, removable steering wheel, larger fuel cell, and brake bias controller.

This 2020 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport Trackday comes finished in an Orange and Black vinyl wrap that looks like it just came off 24 hours of racing at la Sarthe. It features all of the track-only accoutrements you could want such as an air jack system, FEV fire suppression system, integrated roll cage, and more and shows 3,500 miles of lapping on the odometer.

Overall, the car looks to be in very nice condition although we don’t know what’s underneath the wrap. There’s no mention of any prior damage in the listing and you can see a bit of peeling on the wrap. There’s also no mention of service history, but I’d assume its just been consumables so far based on the mileage. But that’s a lot to assume, more info on condition and service would have helped this one along, IMO.

The market for GT4 Clubsports has been pretty light, but heading in the downward direction. Recently, Track day examples have seen bids in the $150-200 range while Competitions are still above $200k. Our Spotlight car failed to sell with a final bid at $152,000. Had the seller disclosed a bit more information, I think there was at least another $20k here. Maybe we’ll see this one again in the Spring before the season starts.
