2022 718 Cayman GT4 Modified

A GT4 with GT3 power

DeMan Motorsports has made quite the name for themselves over the years both on the track, and on the street, with their big-bore Caymans and Boxsters. What started out as a passion project for shop owner Rick DeMan to get more power out of his personal GT4, has turned into a business pumping out 4.5-liter builds for customers around the world.

This 2022 718 Cayman GT4 6-Speed is one such DeMan built car. Finished in Chalk over a Black leather & Race-Tex interior, this 7,000-mile GT4 was fitted with a 4.5-liter flat-six in March 2023 along with a six-speed transaxle with a close-ratio gearset, a DeMan high-performance clutch assembly, and a lightweight flywheel.

Not long ago, DeMan-build cars were fairly strong, selling not too far off the cost of a car plus the build. Had this GT4 been stock, I’d expect a selling bid somewhere in the neighborhood of $120,000 due to mileage. Add to that roughly $50k for the DeMan engine and transmission work and you’re at about $170k. This GT4 failed to sell, though, at a final bid of $133,000. Based on peevious DeMan comps, and a bit of market softness for 718s in general, I would think the reserve was somewhere in the $140-150,000 range.
