2023 718 Cayman GT4 RS Weissach

Prices surge for Porsche's 718 Swan Song

Based on today’s news, it looks like the 718 Cayman GT4 RS will be Porsche’s swan song for the model. A product of the GT department, the RS features the 4.0-liter flat-six from the 992 GT3, lighter weight thanks to composite components, and a race-grade suspension that handles on a knife-edge. What a car to bring Porsche’s gasoline-powered mid-engined sports cars to an end.

Today’s Spotlight car, this 2023 718 Cayman GT4 RS, is finished in Paint to Sample Stone Grey Metallic over Black leather and Race-Tex and features Porsche’s Weissach Package, Forged Magnesium wheels painted in Silver, PCCB brakes, PDLS+ headlights, Full Buckets, and more for an MSRP of $217,905.

With just over 1,000 miles on the odometer, the Stone Grey Metallic paint is pretty much perfect, as you would expect, and is protected by XPEL paint protection film. The interior is just as clean and features Arctic Grey stitching and seatbelts, matte carbon-fiber trim, and door pull loops in Guards Red.

The car comes with all of its books, keys, accessories, and has had its first year maintenance performed by Porsche Newport Beach after a proper break-in period. A well-optioned, well-cared for car, in as new condition.

The market for GT4 RS was on a steady decline after a number of no-sales when these first hit the online auction market here in the US. After sitting around a low of ~$215k through the winter, the cars have seemed to bounce back in recent months averaging $225k over the last quarter with the two most recent sales being north of $240k.

Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $242,750. A solid result in line with the aforementioned comps, but light when you consider that this car was a well-optioned PTS example. Choice in PTS color probably kept bids on the more reasonable side as I’m sure that if it were a nice Blue or Green, it would have brought a bit more. Fair deal in what looks like today’s market.
