A New Low For A Great Car
Good Morning! Oof! That was a rough Friday. It’s been a while since we’ve had our dollar volume at $500k, thanks to a low unit volume and sub-standard sell-through rate. We also had a few market lows, as you’ll read shortly. Let’s hope for a better weekend.

With a de-tuned version of Porsche’s 4.0-liter flat-six, the Cayman GTS is a milder GT4 for those looking for more power but not quite the ride of the track-focused variant of the 718. The GTS 4.0 is an excellent choice for carving up country roads and is exceptionally well-balanced but not harsh on the road.
This 2021 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is finished in White over Black and Carmine Red with a 6-Speed manual and only 3,000 miles on the odometer. It is equipped with the GTS Interior package, 20” wheels, and Porsche’s Premium Package. It is in excellent condition, although the only service record provided is from February 2022.
The market for GTS 4.0s has been softening over the last twelve months, with only two out of the six examples offered to sell. The first, a 2,000-mile example, brought $112,000; the most recent 1,100-mile example brought $94,000. At $91,000, this GTS sale marks a twelve-month low and the lowest price paid for an example on record.
With such a low sell-through rate and continuous new market lows, it seems the GTS 4.0s are heading into the “used car” territory. But what a used car it is. While I think they will continue to slide, I’d be looking to pick one up at the bottom once gasoline-powered Caymans are a thing of the past.
