A New 50th Anniversary 12-Month High
Good Morning! It looks like the market shook off yesterday’s low sell-through rate to end the week back in our normal range. Now let’s see if the weekend can push past the $1.5m we saw last weekend.
Speaking of weekends, I hope you enjoy yours. Mine has started off with a bang here at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, thanks to dinner last night with a few SML readers.

As we know, Porsche loves a good Anniversary and typically marks important milestones with special, limited models. For the 911’s 50th anniversary, Porsche introduced the 911 50th Anniversary Edition at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as a 2014 model. Limited to only 1,963 units, they took a standard 911 Carrera S and added the X51 Powerkit increasing horsepower to 424 along with Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system and Porsche Torque Vectoring.
On the outside, three colors were available: Geyser Grey, Graphite Grey, and Black. Chrome trim adorned the wider S body, and the car featured special 20” Sport Classic wheels echoing the famous Fuchs design. The interior featured vintage-style green instrument dials with white needles and retro Pepita seat inserts.
This 13,000-mile 2014 911 50th Anniversary Edition is finished in Geyser Grey Metallic over Agate Gray leather with Pepita inserts. In addition to the standard 50th equipment, this example was optioned with the PDK transmission, Sport Chrono Package, Sport Exhaust, PCCB brakes, PDLS headlights, ParkAssist, Burmester audio, and more.
It is presented in impeccable condition, as you would expect, with only two owners and such low miles. The provided paint meter readings show no signs of work, and the engine bay and undercarriage are clean enough to eat off of. All in a very nice example of a special 911.
The market for 50th Anniversary cars has been on the softer side after peaking at 167,050 in February 2022, with most sales hovering around the $100k mark and a twelve-month high of $138,000 for a 10k-mile example. This example took that high and added almost $30k with a sales price of $165,500. What really set this car apart was the number of options; it was very well specced and even included PCCB brakes, which I, for one, have not seen on a 50th before.
Well sold here in what had been a downward market. Now, if they would just get done to 40th Anniversary prices, I can add one to the collection.
