Good Morning! It was a great day to sell a 2019 Porsche as our top 3 cars were all from that year. But the one I really wanted to take home was from 1960, I would just need a farm to drive it on.

In 1984 the Carrera 3.2 replaced the 911SC as the last of the “classic” 911s with an increase in displacement (hence the 3.2) and added reliability. The 3.2 also featured upgraded brakes, an exhaust system, and improvements to the cooling system. On the outside, the only real distinguishing features from the SC were fog lights fitted to the front bumper and larger air conditioning vents on the inside.

Approximately 35,000 Coupes were produced from the 76,000 Carrera 3.2s giving us a decent number of cars in the market. In the last twelve months, a total of 93 cars have sold with a high of $155,000 for an incredibly clean final-model-year example and $40,911 for a project.

The 1985 911 Carrera 3.2 pictured above is a 5-speed with 60,000 miles shown on the odometer and is finished in a beautiful shade of Prussian Blue Metallic over Blue leather. Its original window sticker shows the car was well-optioned for 1985 with 16” Alloy Wheels, Spoilers Front & Rear, an Electric Sunroof, and more.

It sold yesterday for $102,500, on the upper edge of pricing for the mileage. The price paid can easily be attributed to the quality of the listing as it featured over 200 professional-quality photographs, paint-meter readings, leak-down test results, a dictionary-thick stack of service receipts with service stamps in the book, and PCA concours scoring sheets. This truly was a masterclass in vehicle presentation.

Although on the higher end of pricing for the mileage, this example was just as and if not cleaner than the ~90k-mile example that brought $155,000. With that being said, I’d consider this one well-bought as long as the new owner keeps it as perfect as it is right now and hopefully enjoys it for many years to come.
