At $297,000, this 2018 911 GT2 RS is now the least expensive GT2 RS sold since 2020 and the first US example to sell below $350,000 all year. Is the sky falling on Porsche’s Twin-Turbo monster? If you had asked me back in December of last year, I would have suspected it was as we had many listed at auctions, but not a single one sold.
Fast forward about three months and the market has been looking fairly healthy. Granted, more cars have been under $400k than over, but they’ve been moving. And move this one did thanks to a realistic reserve price set by the seller.
So why so low? Our Spotlight car has just shy of 27,000 miles on the odometer which is quite a lot. The next highest mileage car to sell in the last five years had less than 10,000 miles on it and it sold for $370,000 back in April of 2022. On top of the miles, this one was modified with an ECU tune and an aftermarket exhaust, Gurney flap, dive planes, brake rotors and pads, and front and rear springs. Nothing that can’t be returned to stock but modified nonetheless.
With those miles and modifications, $297,000 is a very fair price that both parties should be happy with. The seller got to daily drive an absolute beast and enjoy a handful of DE events and the buyer gets the same experience but at a discount. Well bought and sold this one.
