991.2 GT3 Price Correction?

Good Morning! Although yesterday’s numbers were a little bit better than Thursday’s results, a $706,000 dollar volume and 64% sell-through rate are nothing to write home about. Add to that a no-sale of a million-dollar Porsche, and one might start to think the market is slowing down a bit.

Following the success of the 2016 911 R, Porsche launched the 991.2 GT3 Touring offering a GT3 sans rear wing and only offering a 6-speed manual transmission. Unlike the 911 R thought, the GT3 Touring was not produced in limited numbers.

Still, that hasn’t kept GT3 Touring prices down as low-mileage cars still trade over their $163,000 base price north of $200,000. That is until this 2019 911 GT3 Touring came along.

Finished in Carrera White Metallic over Black leather, this example features full Carbon-Fiber Bucket Seats, PCM w/Navigation, a Front-Axle Lift System, and an Extended-Range Fuel Tank for a total MSRP of $169,000. The car is presented with only 8,000 miles, a clean CarFax report, a DME report as well as an oil analysis report.

It still sold over its $169,000 MSRP, although just, at $178,000, quite a deal when looking at comps with similar mileage that all sit above $214,000. While some may attribute the price paid to a few over-revs on the DME report, I for one wouldn’t be worried. The 991.2 engine is stout and over-engineered to be pounded on the track. And it looks like the winning bidder wasn’t worried either and it paid off. Very well bought here. Color me jealous.
