The First 992 Carrera T Hits The Market

Good Morning! I know it’s only hump day, and I don’t want to jinx anything, but that’s a solid chart down there. Let’s hope we can continue this for the rest of the week. There were a few surprising no-sales though that were bid right on the money. I guess those sellers weren’t SML readers and tuned in to the market.

SPOTLIGHT

Built as Porsche’s affordable, performance-minded model focused on driver engagement, the 2023 992 Carrera T comes only as a rear wheel drive coupe with a standard 7-speed manual transmission, features not offered on the base case Carrera, and some weight savings to boot.

Hyped as the “baby” GT car of the range, the 992 T sheds its weight through the removal of rear seats and insulation as well as thinner glass and a smaller battery. This weight savings adds up to about 100 lbs of savings compared to the base car.

For the driver in us, the T comes with a mechanical LSD with Porsche’s torque-vectoring system and PASM active suspension. Optionally, the T is offered rear-axle steering, which is impossible to get on your standard Carrera. All in all, the T is a great package and a car I’d like to hit the twisty back roads with.

This 2023 911 Carrera T 7-Speed is the first example to hit the auction market and give us an insight into where the market lies. Finished in Python Green over Back, it is optioned with rear-axle steering, power steering plus, adaptive sport seats plus, and a host of Python Green highlights in the interior. It has an MSRP of $132,270 and comes with only 400 miles. Basically a brand-new car.

The auction ended yesterday on Cars & Bids with a high bid of $137,500, which unfortunately wasn’t enough to take the car home. The seller did state that they were right near the reserve and C&B would see if there was a deal to be done, but it looks like the market is about $10k over list.

When you consider that 2023 cars are all spoken for and 2024 examples have had a price increase of roughly $10k, the market for these cars is at MSRP. Not the overs flippers were probably hoping for. We’ll see if more 992 Ts hit the auction block, but they will probably be few and far between, just like the 991 variants.
