The Lowest Mileage 993 C2 We've Seen Fails To Sell
Had this 1997 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed met its reserve and found a new home, it would have been the lowest mileage 993 C2 to sell in the last five years with only 6,000 miles on the odometer. Finished in a classic 993 color combination of Arena Red over Classic Grey, this example was lightly optioned with a partial leather interior, Becker-Porsche radio, Motor Sound Package, and 17" Cup Design Wheels.
The seller noted some light scratching under the front spoiler but from what we could see, nothing that would require paintwork. Speaking of paintwork, the car metered perfectly all around and pictures of the paint presented beautifully. You could eat off of the undercarriage and the engine bay was just as clean. This is THE car if you're looking for a 993 C2. So why didn't it sell at a final bid of $126,000?
To get a grasp of where the market is and put a price on this uber-low mileage car, you'd have to look further back than the last year to find anything remotely comparable. Within the last 12 months two cars with roughly 17,000 miles sold, one for $121,991 and another for $220,000. The latter however was a very rare X51 package car, hence the price bump. The lowest mileage car, an 11,000-mile Arena Red example sold in August 2020 for $80,000. So a bid of $126,000 isn't completely out of line as our Spotlight car did not have the X51 package.
But apparently, the seller wanted more. How much more? While some in the comment section believed this car should have commanded $150k plus, that's 993 C4S territory, and at the end of the day, no matter how low the miles, this was no C4S. $126,000 was a solid number, maybe $130k. Either way, a sale should have been made in this neighborhood.
