When It Comes To A Cayenne GTS, 6-Speeds Make All The Difference

Good Morning! It looks like yesterday was just a glitch in the matrix as the sell-through rate and dollar volume are back up there where we like to see them.

In other news, I launched the ultimate 997 Price Guide on the website. It’s a work in progress as I’ll be adding some pictures and charts but lots of data is in there. You can check it out here.

The Cayenne GTS was the sportier version of Porsche’s Cayenne S with a 399 hp 4.8L V8, sport suspension, and 21-inch wheels. Equipped with a unique body kit the GTS was lighter than a standard Cayenne S, but what really made the Cayenne GTS special was the optional 6-Speed manual transmission.

The 2009 Cayenne GTS pictured above is finished in GTS Red over Havana and Sand Beige leather, features a clean CARFAX, and plenty of service records from its previous owner. The car however has spent 145,000 miles in Massachusetts and although the paint and interior look great for the mileage, you can see the rust on the undercarriage. And now for the good news: this one has a 6-speed manual transmission.

Like other Porsche models, Cayenne GTS pricing has had a lift over the last few years but the previous six months have proven softer as the majority of cars sold have been below the moving average of just over $30,000, and cars on the upper end of the mileage spectrum have been $20k and under.

Our Spotlight car sold for $36,772 yesterday on Bring a Trailer at about a $20k premium over automatic examples. So did this buyer overpay? Well, $20k appears to be the premium for a 6-speed along all mileage tiers. Whether 55k miles or 95k miles, the 6-speed brings the money as it did in this case.
