Modified 1974 911 Coupe 5-Speed
The Green was great, but was it enough to get it done?

As with most modified 911s, engine and builder typically dictate price, and the same can be said for 1974-1975 911s as prices range from $50,000 all the way up to $200,000 with the occasional car surpassing that mark.
This 1974 911 Coupe 5-Speed is right there in the middle, engine-wise, with a 3.2-liter flat-six sourced from an ‘84 911. The top end was rebuilt in 2023 with the addition of Web Cam camshafts and a Steve Wong chip. On the outside, the car sports a ducktail rear spoiler along with Euro rear bumper guards and has been painted Green with Black Carrera rocker graphics. It rides on 16” Black-centered Fuchs wheels with 944 Turbo-spec front brakes, Bilstein shocks, and new rear sway bar, front suspension bushings, and rear spring plates.
On the inside, you’ll find a reupholstered Black vinyl interior with rear seat and HVAC-delete along with RS-style door panels with Green pulls, lightweight carpeting, and a new headliner and rebuilt pedal cluster. Overall a good-looking example, but the paint is showing its age with evidence of body filler cracking around the right side of the windshield and left rocker panel.
Like I said, engine and builder dictate price here with 3.2-liter comps on either side of the $100k mark. The car is fairly light when it comes to modifications and the paint is in driver condition. Our Spotlight car failed to sell at a final bid of $76,500, which was about right there for the condition of the build. Maybe a deal can be had off the block. We had to have been close.
