A Fair Deal For A LWB 2.0 911S

Introduced for the 1967 model year, the 911S sat at the top of the 911 range with its 160 hp Weber-equipped 2.0-liter flat-six. For its final year of 1969, power was increased to 170 hp, and introduced a longer wheelbase at 89.4 inches along with flared wheel wells to accommodate larger tires.
This 1969 911S Coupe is finished in Silver over black and has received plenty of work since we last saw this car sell on Bring a Trailer in September 2022. On the outside, work included welding the left-side mirror mounting holes and replacing the front bumper, front valance, and engine grill. New Recaro comfort seats were fitted inside, and door panels with the proper door latch assembly were replaced.
Work on the drivetrain included installing a Perma-Tune CD ignition system, a Sachs performance clutch assembly, SSI heat exchanges, a replacement oil-level sending unit, an alternator, and more. Rebuilt brake calipers, Bilstein rear shocks, replacement brake pads, and sway bar bushings round out suspension work.
Had this car been fully restored and in its original color of Tangerine, it would have sold in the $180k+ range. But even with all of the work completed by the seller since purchasing the car last year for $73,000 in worse-off condition, it was no surprise the car failed to bring over $100k. The $90,000 paid still seems like a deal for a very sought-after variant of early 911S.
