A New Record For A 911SC
Good morning! The results of yesterday’s poll are in! It was close but it seems that 62% of you thought the Terracotta interior looked damn good on that Cobalt Blue 911 and it shouldn’t just be reserved for GT Silver cars. But it looks so good on one particular GT Silver car below.
In other news, you might notice something a little different below in The Market. Take a look and let me know what you think, always open to feedback! [email protected].

If you feel like you’ve seen this 1983 911SC recently, you’re not wrong. This SC was sold by Road Scholars of Durham, NC, less than two months ago for $101,983. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the seller and buyer agreed not to move forward over questions about the options.
What options could possibly derail the sale of a 9,000-mile 911SC you might ask? Well, specifically questions around Option Group R95. After further research and discussion with sources in Stuttgart, it turns out the R95 Option added the following M numbers to US cars as a very attractive way to upgrade the car:
M473 - Front & rear spoilers
M474 - Sporty shock absorbers front and rear, “sport suspension”
M566 - Front fog lights
M650 - Power sunroof
Why the original winning bidder did not want the car is beyond me, but luckily for Road Scholars it didn’t matter as the car reached a new 5-year record for 911SC Coupes at $117,000. And now one lucky bidder is taking home a cream puff of an SC with a rare option code to boot. Well-bought and well-re-sold if you ask me.
