Introduced in 1994, Porsche’s 993 generation 911 was much improved over the outgoing 964. Changes include a new light-alloy subframe with coil and wishbone suspension dubbed the Weissach axle, and a 6-speed manual was included as standard for the first time. For 1996 the 993 received a 12 horsepower bump in power, which is important because today we have this 1996 911 Coupe 6-Speed.
Our Spotlight car is finished in a lovely shade of Midnight Blue Metallic over a TON of Marble Gray leather. I say ton because almost every leather box was checked when it came to spec’ing this car.
Leather Tray Behind Parking Brake, Leather Frame for Console Switches, Leather Parking Brake Lever, Shift Knob in Leather with Boot in Leather, Leather Instrument Carrier…. you get the drift. A cow or two was used when fitting this car.
With an option list that reads like a novel, the MSRP had to be quite high on this one. Plus, with 82,000 miles, an accident-free CARFAX, and plenty of service records, one would expect yet another 993 Coupe in the low $100s.
But that was not the case as this 993 Coupe sold for $79,500 yesterday on Cars & Bids. I see no reason this car should have sold below $100k as the listing was excellent. Someone got one heck of a deal on this one. Well bought.
