A Second Chance For This Rare 997 Speedster
Good Morning! For only 16 cars on offer, $1m in sales was a solid result for our dollar volume, especially considering our top sales include a $46,750 ‘85 Cab. But when your top three sales are over $200k, I guess the rest don’t matter.

Introduced for the 2011 model year, the 997 Speedster was the third production 911 Speedster, following the G-Model Speedster of ‘88 and the 964 Speedster of ‘92 after a two-generation absence. The 997 Speedster featured the engine from the Carrera GTS, a shorter windscreen, and the familiar Speedster Humps. Limited to only 356 units, the 997 Speedster is the rarest of the “production” Speedsters up to its launch.
This 2011 911 Speedster is finished in Pure Blue, one of two standard colors offered, over Black leather with Blue accents, and features a 7-speed PDK transmission and pretty much zero options with an MSRP of $205,700. With 7,000 miles on the odometer, it is the highest mileage speedster we’ve seen in the last twelve months by about 3k.
The last time we saw this particular Speedster was in March 2020, when it had 6,500 miles on the odometer and sold for $225,000. Since then, Speedster prices have risen, peaking in June 2021 and holding fairly steady over the last twelve months. This time, our Speedster brought $256,000, a little light if you ask me, as that 4k-mile example I mentioned earlier sold for $368,000 six months ago. More and better photographs and paint meter readings could have gone a long way, as there was another $20k to be had here. Better luck next time.
