Built to commemorate their 1960 12 Hours of Sebring win, Porsche released the Boxster RS60 Spyder in 2008. Each car was finished in GT Silver Metallic with the choice of Carrera Red or Dark Grey leather. The cars received a bump in power output to 299 hp thanks to the standard sports exhaust and featured 19” Sport Design wheels and Porsche's Active Suspension Management System.
Limited to only 1,960 units worldwide, we only see a handful of cars cross the black each year. Our Spotlight car, this 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder, has only 8,000 miles and is the lowest mileage example we’ve seen in two years. A one-owner car, this 6-speed example is optioned with the Carrera Red Leather along with heated seats, bi-xenon headlights, BOSE, and more. Quite frankly, the perfect spec, and in perfect condition as well.
Over 200 photos show every inch and angle of the car along with plenty of service records, paint meter readings, and all factory accessories including the 1:43 scale die-cast models of the 1960 and 2008 RS 60 Spyder.
The last low-mileage examples sold for $35-39,000 back in 2020 and 2019. So for this RS60 to sell for $59,900, that’s quite the jump. Yes, this was a perfect one-owner example, but the others were very nice in their own right. And yes, the market has gone a bit crazy since 2020, but not crazy enough to add $20k to a “limited” Boxster. It is a beautiful car and definitely worth the money paid, but at the end of the day, this was very well sold. And how fitting that it sold the day Porsche was going for the overall victory at Sebring again after 63 years.
