Did Track Use Soften This 991.2 GT3, Or Was It The Market?

Making its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche's 991.2 GT3 was much more than just a facelift to the previous Dot-one GT3. The engine, derived from the 4.0-liter 911 GT3 R and Cup cars, had a 9,000 rpm redline and a power increase to 493 hp. But the big news? The return of the 6-speed manual transmission after an absence and an uproar from the Porsche crowd.
Today’s Spotlight car, this 4,000-mile 2018 911 GT3, is one such 6-speed example. Finished in Paint to Sample Mexico Blue, this example features a Front Axle Lift System, Carbon Fiber Interior Package, and Full Bucket Seats from the factory. Not from the factory are the MBRP exhaust, center-lock 20” BBS wheels, Ferodo brake pads, a Tarett Engineering brake caliper stud kit, and a BBi roll cage with Schroth harnesses, which answer the question, “Has this gt3 been tracked?”
Even with some track time, the car is in very nice condition and comes with a window sticker, a DME report, and a clean Carfax report, although no paint meter readings were provided.
We last saw this car in June 2022, selling for $204,001. Back then, at the peak of the 991.2 GT3 market, it was well bought as other GT3s with around 3,000 miles were $10k+ over where this one ended. This time around, it sold for $199,500, and compared to recent comps, it was a decent buy again. But the assumption of track time and a few questions over the DME report most likely kept this one from realizing its full potential, even in Mexico Blue.
