A $55,000 111,000-Mile Accident History Cayenne. WTF.
Pretend you didn’t see the picture above and ask yourself what a 111,000-mile twelve-year-old Porsche Cayenne with accident history on the CarFax would sell for. $15,000? Maybe $20,000? Or perhaps it was a GTS so $25,000?
So why on earth did this 2010 Cayenne sell for almost $55,000? Even if you saw the picture above that figure is still hard to believe. Yes, it’s a rare Transsyberia Cayenne in the perfect color spec. But $54,957… come on!
Truth be told this is the rarest of the rare, one of only 3 (yes three) Transsyberia Cayennes that came from the factory with a 6-Speed transmission. With the rise in profile and price of off-road modified Cayennes, having the original “off-road” factory Cayenne with a manual transmission trumps any facts that would be a negative on most collector cars.
The seller could have asked anything for this SUV and his email would have been flooded with potential buyers lining up for the chance to own a unicorn. The buyer now owns one of the rarest Porsches in the history of the marque. An amazing deal for both sides on a Cayenne that I would put in my garage for sure.
