A Singer Sells For a Song
For the first time at auction, a 911 Reimagined by Singer moves from hovering around the $1m mark to $1,300,000. That’s a big jump when other price trends are starting to head in the other direction. Was this sale a fluke or has a new bar been set?
The last Singer we saw cross the auction block was in March of this year. This Rubystone Red Targa sold for $1,100,000 on Bring a Trailer beating the previous high sale of a Singer by $50,000.
Since that sale, Singer’s founder, Rob Dickenson has announced that the company has “stopped taking orders” capping production of their ‘Classic’ 911 at 450 units in order to focus on their newly launched Turbo model leaving only the used market to satisfy the demand.
How much demand is there? Well, we will find out as there is a second Singer 911 on Bring a Trailer ending in 10 days.
