A Very Charitable GT3 Sale
This 2004 911 GT3 with 8,000 miles was offered from the Frank Tsuru collection at No Reserve with all proceeds from this sale (and his others) going to charity. The car offered is an absolutely pristine example of a 996 GT3 with all original paintwork and an immaculate interior with the smallest of blemishes on the door panel. And the undercarriage, well the undercarriage is a thing of beauty.
Over the past year, we’ve seen 996 GT3s with this kind of mileage hit a high at $215,000 and a low of $175,000. But over the past few months, we’ve only seen one car cross the $100,000 mark amid a slew of no sales.
Our Spotlight car sold for $175,000 yesterday on Bring a Trailer with a handful of final bidders duking it out over the $100k where it had sat up to the final morning. Now typically a “charity” auction brings higher value, especially at in-person sales. But this one sold at what we consider the floor for such a quality example. With a 50% sell-through rate over the last two months and this sale sitting fairly low, it looks like the 996 GT3 market might be slowing down a bit. Very well-bought by the winning bidder as when things heat up again, this will be a $200k+ car.
