Another CGT Seller Rolls The Dice
It’s been a hot minute since our last Carrera GT update as sales pittered out towards the second half of the year as the majority of cars brought to market failed to meet reserves reminiscent of the spring and 2021. But this 2005 Carrera GT, like our last one, was listed at No Reserve to let the good times roll and see what the market bears.
Our last No Reserve CGT sold earlier this month for $1,290,000. The car had a full luggage set, a Terracotta interior, and 14,000 miles. Our Spotlight car finished in GT Silver over Dark Grey (black) leather has 8,000 miles, an aftermarket exhaust, and 5 out of the 7 pieces of luggage. I guess a previous owner wanted a memento.
At $1,235,000, yesterday’s sale is on trend with a softening market as this car had almost half the miles of the last sale. The color combination, missing luggage, and aftermarket probably hurt the sale a bit, but not to the tune of $55,000.
I for one can’t wait to see what the New Year brings as we’ll see a 3,300-mile example that has been repainted Red, a 4,900-mile Basalt Black car, and a 13,000-mile Seal Grey car all cross the block in January.
