Does Anyone Drive Their GT2 RS?
No production Porsche brought more speculation in recent times than the 991 GT2 RS with the vast majority of cars hitting traditional listing sites asking almost double MSRP as soon as they hit the streets.
But the market spoke and the cars sat with their outrageous price tags for months with auction results only bringing sub $100k over sticker.
Fast forward to today, and you’ll still find the majority of cars offered for sale with barely any miles and prices relatively the same.
So why does this limited production (1,000 units) GT car not bring the crazy overs we see on the normally aspirated cars? Perhaps it has something to do with the usability. GT3s and GT3 RS’ are at home both on the track, and on the streets whereas the GT2 RS’ are a terrifying turbo-induced ride not for the faint of heart. Or maybe it’s the fact that this GT2 was only offered with a PDK transmission to tame the beast.
With the next iteration of Porsche’s GT2 right around the corner, the 991 GT2 RS market will be one to watch. Will stay consistently where they are or will this be a GT bargain in the next 5 years?
