GT3 RS True Market Update
You would think that after a sale of a 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS in the same Ultraviolet color for $280,500 miles a month ago that our Spotlight car, which sold yesterday on PCARMARKET for $173,250, must either be a rebuilt car or a complete basket-case.
But you frequent readers of this newsletter remember that that particular RS was a Sonderwunsch car with small details that pushed the price higher than average, with the help of television cameras and alcohol of course.
Since then, an 8,500-mile car in Lava sold for $185,000, and a 2,500-mile car in Black sold for $215,226. This car selling for $173,250 is spot on for an 11,000 example with good history, a clean carfax, and an owner who actively addressed bidders during the auction this past week.
Will these get softer? Probably. There’s definitely still room for these to depreciate but not by much. That being said I’d say this was well bought as it has some miles on it and can be driven without fear of going over 10k on the odo and well-sold for getting out before prices drop even further.
