Octmotorfest Recap
Yesterday the virtual hammer dropped on the final Porsche from the DriverSource Octmotorfest held on Bring a Trailer over the last month. All 10 Porsches sold with 3 of the cars achieving all-time high sales for the model including the 996 Turbo pictured above which sold for $130,000.
Along with the X50 packaged 996, the 1969 911E Soft-Window Targa sold achieved a market high of $204,000 miles. That price might seem crazy until you realize that most other ’69 Targas had glass rear windows, making this probably one of the last Targas with a soft window.
The third car to reach a high from this sale was a 1989 928 S4 which sold for $112,000 miles due to its ultra-low mileage of 15,000 miles. A 1996 993 Targa sold for $85,000, only being beaten by a car previously sold with only 9k miles on the odometer. The other notable sale from the auction was R Gruppe co-founder, Cris Huergas’ 1969 911S. Someone paid up for the history at $175,000 which is up there with other high sales but not the highest.
All-in a solid sale of low-mileage, pristine examples fetching excellent prices due to condition and rarity.
