SCRS Replica Pushes 3.2 Prices

Carrera 3.2s were manufactured between 1984 and 1989 and quite a few of them pass through the auctions, but none quite like this 1985 911 Carrera 3.2. Over the past year, prices for higher mileage cars tend to hover around the $60-90k mark with a few noteworthy examples laying near $100,000.

Our Spotlight car, a TMU (true mileage unknown) car sold yesterday on Bring a Trailer for $90,000 while the last TMU car to sell was below $60k. But as we said, this car is not your average Carrera 3.2. On the outside, the car is finished in Grand Prix white with aftermarket bumpers and a ducktail spoiler giving it an SCRS look, especially with the Cibie driving lights. And the side graphics, so 80s. Love it.

Other than the Dansk exhaust system and Bilstein shocks, the drivetrain is stock. Recently, our car had an extensive servicing consisting of refinishing the wheels, adjusting the valves, and replacing the clutch components, tires, shifter bushings, blower motor fans, air conditioning belt, air filter, valve cover gaskets, engine mounts, crankshaft seal, and steering rack boots.

With all of that work and the fact that it was represented by one of the finest sellers on BaT, $90,000 is a very solid result. You couldn’t build a car of this quality for close to that. The seller, having purchased the car in 2017, probably made out here as well. Both parties should be happy with this sale. Well-sold, well-bought, and I’m sure well-enjoyed.
