The RS Market Takes a Hit
While some Porsche markets have remained strong, quite a few have been sliding down over the last few months like the 2019 GT3 Weissach that sold yesterday on PCARMARKET with a final bid of $205,000.
The last Weissach package car to sell in the US crossed the online block just one month ago selling for $250,000 with 3,000 miles. Our spotlight car had 7,000, double the previous sale but still well shy of 5 digits. So was this sale a sign of things to come or was it a one-off driven by other factors?
The RS above was used for HPDE track events so it did see some track use and had roughly $54,000 in modifications, primarily suspension and brakes, and all top-of-the-line components. Nothing you wouldn’t expect on a “track” version of the highly sought-after GT3 or would expect to send the price to the low $200s.
Yes, you never get your money out of aftermarket parts, but this car still should have sold for more if you look at the sales from the past year and take into account a slight dip for parts and the market. I’d call this one very well-bought and perhaps a sign of things to come for the 991 GT3 RS’.
